How can we automate the cloud enablement process, so our clients can get to market faster?
Cloud Enablement Concept MVP Project Overview
Cloud Enablement is a product that a Cloud company provides through consultancy. The current process uses in-person workshops with clients onsite. This can make the enablement process longer than it has to be.
Challenges
1. Create a concept that allows the client/user to start the enablement process on their own. Essentially automating the process.
2. Have consultant-based help available, when needed.
Research
Competitor analysis was done to compare their focus, features, and design to our product.
Key Findings
1. Many client's do not know what type of options they want when it comes to Enablement or moving into the cloud. With responses that are similar to: "You are the expert, you tell us."
2. Client's tend to become bored during the workshops
3. Client's tend to go with the Standard process of enablement.
Recognizing who the user is, what their pain points are, what they need and how our product will bring value to them brought perspective to the process.
From the information we gathered through the research phase, it was apparent that the client's contact people were mainly the IT Managers. The IT Managers wanted a faster process with minimal workshops. Cloudeon as a company also wanted a faster way to automate the Cloud Enablement process so consultants had more time for customization with clients. The solution needed to have these needs in mind.
In this phase of the design process, feature mapping, user stories, wireframing and UI was completed.
In feature mapping, using the How, Wow, Now matrix method, we were able to categorize ideas into their respective quadrant, keeping in mind the user needs needs and business goals.
Once mapped it was agreed upon what the core features of this MVP should be.
Concept
So how can we automate the cloud enablement process?
With a web page that allows the user/customer to go through a wizard-type flow that would have them answer questions that would help set up their cloud environment based on our standard Cloudeon Setup. If the Customer believes the standard setup is not enough for their needs, they will have an option to have a custom setup. This setup uses consultant interaction.
UI
Cloudeon's branding is minimalistic using shades of gray, white, and black. Since Cloud Enablement is a product of Cloudeon, its branding needs to be recognized in the design. However, there was an opportunity to differentiate their products by adding pops of color with illustrations.
Service Blueprints
To get an understanding of how the service could be provided blueprints were made. This lets us think of all possible actors and channels in which the clients could be in contact within Cloudeon.
Though this project was put on hold indefinitely, the next steps I would have taken would be to prototype and test to validate the MVP with the intended target group.
